On March 7th, GCAA Health Melbourne Home Care Support Service Center celebrated its grand opening ceremony with enthusiasm and warmth. Distinguished guests gathered to witness this significant milestone.
Opening Ceremony Highlights
Before the ribbon-cutting, GCAA Health’s Managing Director Jenny Hong delivered an inspiring speech. She welcomed esteemed guests including Melbourne City Councillor Kevin Lee, Springvale Mayor Jim Memeti, Councillor Richard Lim, and renowned community leaders. Jenny emphasized the center’s commitment to “elderly-centric” services, aiming to provide professional and compassionate home care support.
Amidst thunderous applause, Jenny announced the official start of the ceremony. Guests then joined hands to cut the red ribbon, symbolizing a new chapter for the center.
Melbourne City Councillor Kevin Lee praised the center’s contribution to multicultural communities and elderly care from a policy perspective. Mayor Jim Memeti highlighted its role as a vital bridge linking community resources for quality elderly services. Community leaders expressed heartfelt expectations for the center’s support services.
CEO Jack Hong shared the center’s vision to innovate and safeguard the health of the elderly through cutting-edge models.
The event featured a cultural performance by Professor Huang Baiping, an 80-year-old calligrapher, who effortlessly blended traditional art with health blessings. A birthday celebration for five elders, complete with singing and cake, added warmth to the occasion.
A vibrant cultural program ensued, including:
- A Hawaiian hula dance by GCAA staff
- A traditional Chinese dance performance by Clayton Ethnic Dance Troupe
- A fashion show by the Oakleigh Chinese Seniors Association
- Tai Chi demonstrations and children’s songs by local groups
- A high-energy duet and finale song by Li Ruge
At the closing, Director Diane Feng expressed gratitude to partners and elders, promising professional care. The center will offer calligraphy, computer classes, singing and dance groups, and rehabilitation programs guided by clinical therapists, aiming to be a vibrant leisure destination for seniors.
